Düsseldorf Airport

Duty-free is not one price. Against Berlin, Frankfurt and Vienna, Düsseldorf comes out cheaper on most products we can compare.

It runs the other way against Hamburg, Paris and Madrid, where the same products are mostly cheaper than here. Neither airport wins everything, which is the reason to check the individual product rather than trust a rule of thumb.

The gap tends to follow the border rather than the terminal: two airports in the same country, run by the same operator, usually price within a rounding error of each other, while crossing into another country — or to another operator — is where the difference shows up. For Düsseldorf the widest gap is against Tokyo Haneda, which is the comparison worth making before you fly.
